What does the service include?
We specialize in upcaning surfaces — not repairing or reinforcing furniture. We don't fix damaged wood, metal, or other materials; we purely focus on the cane weaving transformation.
What patterns and colors are available?
We offer 6 patterns: solid plain, solid color, 2-color max pattern, 2-color stripes, random dots on plain, and 3-color gradient. These come in a library of 10 colors plus natural cane — we're not creating custom colors at this time.
What objects can be upcaned?
We work on pieces between 10in × 10in and 8ft × 8ft. Compatible materials include wood, metal, and plastic — others are open to discussion. Inorganic forms are debatable but we're open to experimenting.
How is pricing determined?
Pricing depends on three factors: the design complexity, artisan time spent weaving your specific surface area, and additional material costs like dyes and paints. Since each piece is treated as one of a kind, the price per square meter may vary by weave pattern.
How long does it take?
Upcaning typically takes 7–18 days, depending on the size and complexity of the piece.
Do I need to be based in Mumbai?
No! If you can ship your piece to us and arrange pickup post-service, we can upcane it for you. Mumbai-based clients are welcome to drop off and collect from our gala directly — or we can arrange pickup and delivery at an added cost.
